1932 The National War Memorial Carillion was first used to observe ANZAC day in this year. 1933 Construction of the Dominion Museum was started, the site was next to the National War Memorial Carillion in Buckle Street. 1936 Ford Motor Company of New Zealand was incorporated and production began at the Lower Hutt assembly plant. 1937 The Wellington Railway station was completed and opened. 1939 Lyall Bay became the site of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition. 1938 - 1940 Wellington Suburban rail network was electrified. |
